The Community of Lampeter hosts a number of annual events and we are also eager to encourage and support new events in our calendar.

February
This event is organised by a team of local volunteers, and takes place at Lampeter Campus of UWTSD. It celebrates local and regional beers and ciders from all over Wales.
St David's Day Parade
March
The 1st of March is Saint David’s Day, the Patron Saint of Wales. The town celebrates with a traditional and colourful parade and other activities to celebrate St David's Day.
Lampeter Agricultural Society Show
A very popular local event, where you can see the best that the agricultural community has to offer. There are a range of crafts and trade stands situated around the show ground, where you can enjoy watching a wide range of classes including sheep, horses, cattle and visit the exhibition tent.
Lampeter Food Festival
This event draws visitors from far and wide and is one of the highlights of Lampeter’s calendar. If you love food and drink, and want to meet Welsh makers and producers, then you miust visit the Lampeter Food Fest. It is held in July each year in the University grounds, and showcases the best in Welsh food and drink. The perfect place to spend a summer afternoon, and sample the range of products.
Lampeter Carnival
Everyone is welcome to join in and take part in the float procession and enjoy a fun-filled day out at the Carnival, held annually in August on the Saturday following the Food Festival.
Eisteddfod Rhys Thomas James Pantyfedwen
August
This cultural event has been held annually for over 50 years and celebrates our Cymreictod (Welshness). It’s a perfect opportunity to experience a range of performances by talented singers, musicians, orators and bards from the local area and further afield.
Christmas Celebrations
November and December
Christmas Fayre, held on the Lampeter Campus of the UWTSD. It brings together the ‘Town and Gown’ and is organised by University staff and volunteers from the town including Lampeter Town Council and the Chamber of Trade.
A traditional Plygain service is usually held annually at the Chapel of St. David on the Lampeter Campus of the UWTSD.
Late Night Shopping
November and December
As Christmas approaches, Lampeter’s shops open their doors late into the night. Everyone is welcome to shop, meet friends and even visit Santa’s grotto, during a night of late night shopping and entertainment. The Christmas Lights, the large Christmas Tree and all the smaller Christmas Trees create a magical Christmas scene in Lampeter.
Paultry Show
December
Poultry Show, the only Poultry Show still running in Wales and you have the opportunity to buy your poultry ready for your Christmas table.
Lampeter Market
Located on the grounds of UWTSD, on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month, from 10am to 1pm.
The market offers the perfect opportunity to buy a range of products from local suppliers and crafter, to meet people and share a coffee listening to live music.
